My name is Sophie Crowley (BSc Hons PGCE MA DipABRSM) and along with 18 years as a primary school teacher, I have been playing the piano and singing for over 35 years.

I started full-time primary teaching in 2008, and at the same time studied part-time towards my Masters degree in Education. Being a class teacher was incredibly enjoyable but after starting a family, I decided to set up my own music teaching business from home. I quickly became oversubscribed, teaching 36 piano students a week, and going into schools to teach whole-class lessons. I now provide piano, aural, and theory lessons both from my home in Harpenden and within schools in the local area on a peripatetic basis, whole-class music lessons to KS2 in Brent as part of the Brent Music Service’s Music’sCool programme, and accompany instrumental exams for ABRSM, Trinity, LCME, and for audition videos for conservatoires.

I hold a diploma with the Royal Schools of Music in Solo Piano Performance (DipABRSM), and have a Masters degree in Education. I have sung with choirs from a young age, from church groups to the London Philharmonic Choir as an adult, regularly performing at the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.

I am a member of the Musicians’ Union, have an enhanced DBS certificate and hold public liability insurance.

Sophie is lovely; an engaging and buoyant personality who can light up the room and engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
