Accompanist

I am available to accompany singers and instrumentalists for any occasion. You may need an accompanist for a music exam coming up or for a performance or recital.

For music exams, I accompany for both ABRSM and Trinity but am also available for other exam boards. I will provide one rehearsal as standard prior to the exam itself but am able to provide further rehearsals if necessary. My fee will include the rehearsal, exam and travel costs within a reasonable distance of Harpenden.

I am able to provide the piano accompaniment for school performances, whether that be for choirs, orchestras needing a piano reduction of orchestral scores or small instrumental groups.

Sophie Crowley accompanied both of my daughters for their woodwind practical exams. She has a fabulous, encouraging manner with children of any standard (one child was grade 2, the other was grade 6) and rehearses with them before the “big day”. Students swiftly feel at ease with her – which makes the whole thing so much easier to navigate. As a parent I also appreciated that they had a very friendly face at the exam centre and she also provided accurate trustworthy feedback on how they had performed. We love her so much that the children have now both asked to learn piano with her too!
