Sophie Crowley accompanied both of my daughters for their woodwind practical exams. She has a fabulous, encouraging manner with children of any standard (one child was grade 2, the other was grade 6) and rehearses with them before the “big day”. Students swiftly feel at ease with her – which makes the whole thing so much easier to navigate. As a parent I also appreciated that they had a very friendly face at the exam centre and she also provided accurate trustworthy feedback on how they had performed. We love her so much that the children have now both asked to learn piano with her too!

Sophie has entertained us at St John’s a number of times with her piano playing. Her performances have all had the ‘wow’ factor and left the audience enthralled. I would definitely recommend Sophie, who is also a lovely person to work with.

I attended a concert in the spring where Sophie Crowley was the piano accompanist for singers. She was amazing. She is extremely professional in all aspects. Some singers were let down at the last by their pianist and Sophie stepped into the breach with only a few hours notice for a very challenging accompaniment. You would never have known she was not the original accompanist. Her interpretation of the music is a strong point for Sophie too. I will be looking out for her again and won’t hesitate to attend anything she is performing in.

Sophie came to play the piano for some of the residents – she is amazing! Her repertoire is extensive and very varied (classical, popular, jazz, wartime… in fact you name it, Sophie will play it) – she also sings beautifully and is extremely personable. Sophie’s talents were enormously appreciated and we are delighted that she’s coming back next month to play and sing for the residents again – by popular demand. Highly recommended.

Sophie is a wonderful teacher! She currently teaches two of my children who are quite shy, especially when it comes to learning something new. Sophie teaches my 8 year old daughter beginners piano, we were warned that young children can quickly get bored and see practice as a chore, but not with Sophie teaching! The fact she is a trained primary school teacher is very apparent, she knows how to connect with young children and is very encouraging and makes every lesson fun. My child loves lessons with her, even Skype lessons during lockdown. Sophie is energetic and engaging and has even combined my daughter’s love of Harry Potter into the lessons. Its a joy to see my child’s confidence and love of music grow. Thank you.

Singing Soph has been a wonderful experience for our children at Kinder Harmony. We have been exploring classical music with themed activities planned appropriately for our mixed age setting, that support the EYFS Curriculum. Soph always arrives with a smile on her face and the children are equally animated and keen to participate in her wonderful musical sessions, learning rhythm and pace through percussion whilst being exposed to beautifully played eclectic classical music from accomplished composers. Funky Monkey and Singing Soph’s sessions are a firm favourite each week.
